Woher kommt der Name R2-D2?
R2D2 ist genau 66 Jahre alt, weil das Force Awaken 34 Jahre nach A New Hope stattfindet, was 32 Jahre nach The Phantom Menace em geschieht >. Es heißt, dass er kurz vor dem Start von The Phantom Menace gebaut wurde. Von dort aus müssen wir die Daten zwischen den Filmen zählen und los geht’s.

Did Darth Vader ever meet R2D2?
Darth just misses R2D2 on the Tantive IV. They’re both on the Death Star at the same time but it’s reasonably clear that they didn’t meet, even for a polite lunch. They’re around 50 yards from each other during the trench run. Vader shoots at Luke and inadvertently hits Artoo in the head. Awkward.
Does R2-D2 know Luke is Anakin’s son?
R2-D2 was present when Padmé gave birth to Leia and Luke, so he knew Luke was Anakin’s son – but what he didn’t know was that Anakin became Darth Vader. In addition to that, Anakin’s fall was surely a painful event in R2-D2’s life, one that he definitely wouldn’t like to remember or even talk about.
Did Anakin and R2 ever spend time together?
In the Clone Wars, Anakin believed R2 to be an better asset with all his memories, and also at times a friend and companion. When he was at his loneliest or lost, R2 was there. I think there were five seasons , I believe to my knowledge, so plenty of time together alone.
Why didn’t R2-D2 witness Obi-Wan’s battle with Anakin?
Though R2-D2 was by Anakin’s side through his transformation from Jedi to Sith and accompanied him to Mustafar, he was ordered by Anakin to stay with the ship, so he didn’t witness his battle with Obi-Wan.
