Was ist besonders am Uranus?
Der Uranus ist der erste Planet, der mit Hilfe eines Teleskopes gefunden wurde und noch nicht seit dem Altertum bekannt ist. Eine weitere Besonderheit des Uranus ist, dass seine Rotationsachse um mehr als 90° geneigt ist. Dort, wo die anderen Planeten ihren Äquator haben, hat der Uranus seine Pole.
Was ist eine Uranus einfach erklärt?
Der Uranus ist der siebte Planet im Sonnensystem. Er wurde 1781 von William Herschel entdeckt. Mehr als 2.800 Millionen Kilometer trennen den Uranus von der Sonne. Bei dieser Entfernung ist es nicht verwunderlich, dass die Temperatur an der Oberseite seiner Wolken nur -214°C beträgt.

How did the planet Uranus get its name?
It was two years later that the object was universally accepted as a new planet, in part because of observations by astronomer Johann Elert Bode. Herschel tried unsuccessfully to name his discovery Georgium Sidus after King George III. Instead the planet was named for Uranus, the Greek god of the sky, as suggested by Johann Bode.

Uranus orbits the Sun once every 84 years, taking an average of seven years to pass through each constellation of the zodiac. In 2033, the planet will have made its third complete orbit around the Sun since being discovered in 1781.
Why are Uranus’s auroras not in line with the Poles?
Auroras on Uranus are not in line with the poles (like they are on Earth, Jupiter and Saturn) due to the lopsided magnetic field. The magnetosphere tail behind Uranus opposite the Sun extends into space for millions of miles. Its magnetic field lines are twisted by Uranus’ sideways rotation into a long corkscrew shape.
